Cinema_PSYOPS_EP542: Gone in 60 Seconds 1974
All the audio with Dr. Marit.
We're trying to defeat this and say there are clips that you should take those sends, play cool songs.
Now they just bitch about capitalism.
The show be pin short, but it still feels long.
Just too little H, morons babbling it on.
Just 2 mill ways for us, that laid on.
Talk about movies, get it wrong, simplestly out, stop.
This podcast's off.
simplify our dots.
This show fucking sucks.
Just do middle-age one, try to do a show.
Virtue sickly, how they're so low.
Simposai out, stop, this podcast, stop. Simposai out, stop.
This show still fucking sucks.
Call billionaires, parasites, the middle upper views, the radical genus into everything they do.
Try to pretty much buy quality and hoop to include.
Acting like everyone deserves to live their truth.
So be gay, shorter, but still feel bomb. Just to be late, we're on babbling on.
Just to middle age, we're us, babbling on, talking about movies, getting it wrong.
Sympathy off, stop.
This podcast up.
Then the flabs up.
This show still fucking sucks.
Just to be late for us, drive to a show.
Virtue single it, how they're so low, tip a tie off, so.
This podcast's off.
This show still fucking sucks.
Hello.
Oh, and welcome to the 542nd episode of Cinema Psyops.
I'm your host, Cort, the guy that is super excited to be talking about the movie that we're talking about this week, but unfortunately, the one who has to do the notes is my co-host, Matt.
Fucking A.
What's up?
Yeah. This entire movie just made me want to play Grand Theft auto.
I mean, there's a big influence on a lot of different things that gone in 60 seconds, the original from 1974 that we're talking about here, has been a huge influence on a lot of these kind of car chase movies.
I don't know if it still holds the record, but for the longest time and probably for as long as the record has existed.
If it doesn't hold it now, this film holds a record for like longest car chase sequence in a movie.
I believe it still owns the record if Wikipedia is to be believed.
Yeah, yeah, I totally would believe it.
known to for featuring a 40 minute, by the way, Car Chase scene.
Longest in film history, during which a total of 93 cars were destroyed.
Oh, yeah, this okay, sorry, all cards on the table.
This movie is still fucking great.
Oh, dude, this movie fucking, this movie fucks.
All right?
Fuck art.
Yeah, gone in 60 seconds from 1974.
definitely fucks really hard.
I mean, dude, I broke it up to 30 minute timepieces, but even the last bit of the movie, I don't have is the final 30, because there's no final 30 there, it was the final run.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, there was very little except for him finally getting away with all of it and pulling it off in like the weirdest and kind of coolest way possible.
There's, yeah. So there's going to be a lot of, I think, we're not going to be able to describe this.
So I don't feel like this is going to be a really long episode because...
I only have eight.
I only have 8 clips
Oh, yeah. And then, and then after hour 7 mark, no, not even that, earlier than that.
Maybe at like the 58 minute mark, it's a car chase to end the movie.
The entirety last half of the movie almost.
is a card chase, everyone.
And I wrote down just like blips, like important blips about it.
But really watch this fucking movie because the car chase is one of the best and then you will want to jump on a Grand Theft Auto session just to fucking go and like piss off a cop and then see how many stars you get.
I used to love on PlayStation 2 driver.
I used to love stealing cop cars and then turn it on the sirens and then having every cop in the city swarm you and then still get away.
So good.
So good.
I like going out of the Grand Theft Auto online because I still have a character on there.
I hardly ever play it, but I still have an armored, uh, Camara, which is like impenetrable by anyone.
So I just go and like constantly like get a 5 star rating and I'm just like helicopters try to shoot me, but I'm impenetrable and I just drive around the entire map.
And also, uh, both movies this week really made me think about the twisted metal, not necessarily the game, but I watched the series.
Um, particularly my movie next week, so I'll save everyone we actually get into it, but holy fuck.
They're just the total sheer annihilation and nonstop pile up of cars in both of these films.
What a what a treat we have in store for both weeks.
I know. Well, instead of beating around the bush about it.
Why don't we go ahead and actually get started talking about gone in 60 seconds?
So we're going to take the break here.
We're going to play the Legion Patreon ad because, I mean, Bo podcasted at least a couple of times again, so he's back on the airwaves. As far as I'm concerned, this Legion Patreon ad is still valid.
And when we come back, we'll have some music that was created inspired by the plot line of the film as best as it possibly can.
And when we're done with that, we will do the review for gone in 60 seconds, right after all this.
This will keep us quiet.
Oh, hi there.
I didn't see it.
You call me cutting a new show.
I'm Bo Ransdell, and I'm one of the many creators you can find on Legion podcasts.
I said, quiet.
My fellow podcasters and I work hard to bring you the best in horror podcast name, but that comes at a cost.
Not that, but also, yes.
No, what I'm getting at is that there are server costs, costs for good microphones and software for editing, all the things that make our shows, you know, fun to listen to, and you can help.
If you're enjoying the shows on LegionPodcasts.com or in the Legion Network available on iTunes and Stitcher, just about anywhere you can download a podcast, really, you can help us out and get a little something for your trouble at patreon.com/LegionPodcasts
For just 2 bucks a month, you get a pair of movie commentaries exclusive to Patreon, and for $5, you can also join us for a monthly screening of a movie.
All of that available on patreon.com/Legionpodcasts
We appreciate it, and thank you for listening.
Now, back to the cutting room.
In the shadow of secret slide.
Mandrian's got a plan tonight.
With the engines roaring loud.
Chasing dreams behind the wheel 48, the stakes are high.
Through the streets will take a flight.
Leaving troubles far behind.
We'll break free, escape the grind.
But the dawn brings a bitter twist.
A whisper in the dark, betrayed, detectives on a racing fast through 5 cities.
Can we outlast each heart raise? Just one more heist, it's our faith.
Eleanor calls can't hesitate.
Hold on tight.
Don't look back in the heat of the chase.
Stay on track with hope as a fuel.
We'll ignite our spirits sore.
Burning bright
Just one more heist, it's our faith.
Well, considering that that music was created quite literally just right before I edited this episode.
I hope it did okay with at least matching the themes and overall feeling, and somewhat tell the storyline of the film.
Bye hope.
We see.
I'm sure it did.
always does.
The only thing that I really require to do an excellent job of telling us the storyline of the film is you, so why don't you go ahead and do that for us?
Fucking A, gone in 60 seconds.
We start with the 1st 30.
This insurance man named Mandarin Pace.
is checking on a train wreck.
Seems to be the driver of the train is dead, and he's just really looking through it, so we can tell he's just an insurance investigator.
Well, we cut to a car, chop shop, that he also owns an explanation of the business, and so that's our 1st clip.
This is totally the way.
I was hoping you would clip all of this dialogue that explains stuff, even if I have to cut it down for you.
Oh, fuck, yeah.
I, certainly, I wasn't,
Yeah.
I mean, once you get to this, it's it's like, 0 yeah, clip that shit.
5 o'clock in the morning.
I live right.
Well, I'll fix your living habit.
On the morning, you get up and fly and start tearing down that truck to find out what time you hit the train.
Okay, if Stanley up.
I think two years in the army gave him brain damage.
Hey, hey, I learned the business next week.
I don't even know how these switchovers work.
Well, Stanley goes like this.
Sailor whale by direct car.
We cut it up and saved the serial numbers, the engine and trans and junked the rest.
Then we go out and steal one identical, and put these SEO numbers from the red car on the new one.
Well, don't the police and the insurance company's check these guys?
Oh, the odds are about 5,001.
Do you know how many cars that in Los Angeles County alone?
Over two million?
Hey, Kelly, what's your new girlfriend's name?
Jill.
Why?
Tell my name this car after her, 'cause she's a wreck, too.
Hey, Major, need your truck locking keys?
Hey, Stan, you got the mileage?
Uh, yeah, it's, uh, 6, 8, 9, 5 tent.
Hey, I mean, what kind of tires are those?
They have Goodyear, E 7, 8, 14.
Two striker, one strike.
Oh, they have two strikes.
I'm going back in the army.
I think that's a good idea.
Dick Carlos with.
He's in a bad mood.
Oh, cram it, you guys.
Ah, that's 'cause his, sweetie, is in New York.
Anyway, they go out, and they steal, uh, another challenger that they're, you know, swapping out, uh, and challengers are just beautiful cars even back then, even did today.
Fuck it, some fine ass muscle cars in this movie.
So I was happy about that.
Just some finance cars.
The thing that's actually really interesting about some of the dodge stuff, like the dart and the Challenger and some of those kinds of cars, is that they were some of the more affordable and more easily like interchangeable of parts and easier to sort of upgrade, which is what really made them popular with a lot of gearheads, specifically in this area, era.
I mean.
Especially muffle cars.
Yeah, especially the muffle cars.
Almost all muscle cars.
The reason why they're so big for gearheads even to this day, besides the fact that they're all kind of, you know, uh, you know, not hard to get.
But even back then is because you could fix your own car, you, or you could add to it, or you could change it up and it became like a point of pride.
Yeah, but the easily affordable points that you could get were in the dodges of this era, and that's why they're so popular, and they can really super them up.
Yeah, that's the thing is you could really soup them up and really, like, even if you just got a more basic hemi engine, you could really do some shit with these motherfuckers.
Yeah.
Oh yeah.
Definitely.
Anyway.
All right.
Anyway, after they get this new challenger, it this leads to our next clip.
This is the way.
Hey, Emily, how'd you get mixed up with pace anyway?
Well, I tell you, Stanley, I used to steal trucks.
One day, this dude comes in, say he's made in face for some insurance car. He's here to investigate a truck I bought.
Well, he walks around the truck over this briefcase.
And right away, I see these pictures of my truck all wrecked up and stuff.
Then he said, Mr. Jackson, do you realize you can go to jail for stealing like he can for lying?
Right then, I knew he hadn't, but he made me an offer.
And here I is, me, investigator Jackson, stealing car.
I still haven't been caught.
Atlee, when you came to work for me, you became a pro.
The amateurs are in jail, professionals never get caught.
Well, what about Bush doctor? He was pro, over 4 in a car, and they nailed him.
Well, he got sloppy.
You don't get slapped in this business.
Jill just became a statistic.
One of the 32% of the cars stolen, never to be recovered again.
Holy Christ, I got me V less than 20 minutes.
Hey, you want to come with you?
No, they said to come alone, and for $400,000, I'm going alone.
See you guys later.
Get this place cleaned up.
Mr. Bayes, you can highly recommend from our associates in Arendina.
Thank you, Mr. Velas.
Like you asked.
$200,000 up front.
This is a lot of money.
Those cars must be at the docks for transfer to the crater. Saturday, no later than five.
They must be there.
Now, I don't need to tell you the consequences if you fail to perform.
Don't worry, Mr. Velas.
I don't worry.
That's your job.
Saturday, by five.
Here's a list in the code names of the cars we're gonna need.
What was that black football player that played for the Green Bay Packers?
Remember, we handled loss on his trucks at the distributing company?
Oh, yeah, you mean Willa Davis?
Yeah, that's...
Yeah. He drives burgundy rolls.
There's his address.
Now, I want you to have as much of this information ready as you can, by the time we get back on Sunday.
Now here's how we'll handle it.
One of the, uh, the first two were stutches.
See, I code named them Donna and Karen.
You'll have to redo this so we can read it.
Yeah, but just go down the line here and code name them.
I want all of them listed this way.
All the way down.
Get the rest of the junk cleaned off here.
Yeah. Also, uh, let me see.
I want you to both undercover car service and ready to go.
Okay, okay?
And you'll pick us up at the airport or take us to the airport at 8.30.
Hello, this is the long distance operator.
Is this the Kashusko Club in Dunkirk, New York?
Yes, it is.
I have a collect person to person call for a Madrian pace from an Atley Jackson of Chase Research in Los Angeles.
Will you accept the charges?
Uh, hold on a little, then, operator.
I think he's with the wedding party.
I'll have to find him.
All right, I'll hold.
This is Adrian Pace.
Will you accept a clip call from an Atley Jackson?
Yes, I will.
Hey, how come you call and collect you in jail or something?
No, but I think we all gonna be.
I've been going over this list, and I think you lost your mind.
Do you realize there are 48 cars on this list, and nine are Rolls Royce, seven limousines?
They even want Parnelli Jones, big old Bronco.
Who Ferrers? Emily, Ellie, what are you trying to say?
There's no way we can steal and switch over this many cards by Friday.
We don't have to switch them.
Just clean them up, take off the license plates and deliver them the docs.
We're still gonna need some more help.
Just getting ready to tell Eugenius to hold off his honeymoon for a week.
You gonna tell a bastard when a week for his honeymoon?
Good luck.
Listen, Hadley, you just get to work on those insurance files.
I can think of at least 25 cars in those files, right offhand.
And don't worry about Eugene.
You just be at the airport to pick us up.
Well, no problem.
We have to live over 40 cars of docks by Saturday.
What do you want me to do? Why don't you postpone your honeymoon?
Hey, I'd like to help you out.
It's my wedding.
I don't seem to understand.
Yeah, deliver over 40 cars a docks by Saturday.
We got all our regular work.
Plus, we got three court appearances this week.
That's a sad start.
Why don't you call me up in three weeks when I get back from running?
Shoulda, listen. Keep going.
Please, Jane, you're not here.
You might have inherited most of the shares when your old man died.
But your brother and sister have held up.
Your end?
Plus, theirs, ever since.
Now, it's about time you shape up, because the three of us can vote you out.
Pumpkin?
I want him on that plane tomorrow, or he's out.
No, no.
Stop it.
Adrian, I worry about you and Eugene.
You're always fighting.
Give me a favor, and let's not talk about him.
Just make sure he's on that plane one, okay?
Hey, I saw the nicest house.
Can we go look at it when we get back?
Oh, boy.
Come on, you know I love you.
Besides that, it will always pop a dream that we get married some days.
I know.
I'm a good cook, too.
You just want me to be a fan like all the other...
Yeah, man, no one will look at you.
Hey, we got a contractor, Phil.
How about ask as a contract?
We'll talk about it then, okay?
Promise?
I promise.
Look at the house, too?
Oh, we'll talk about it.
Okay.
I just want to point out that that clip in that section of the movie, they specifically show you how easy it was to steal a car and make it be a completely different car in this era.
They went in, they got every VIN number off.
They were able to reuse it.
They pretty much clone cars that they get for cheap and make it that car that's not stolen.
It's now it's the car that was bought cheap, and then they probably sell it off for mass.
They buy the car to literally peel the vin off of everything, scrap out everything and chop it down to nothing, and then steal a car that is a valid car, and then relicense it underneath that vin that was a totaled car.
This is so fucking crazy that they were able to get away with it.
And like, I love that in this era, they're like, well, this is how you do it.
Just give it a shot.
can get away with it.
Well, and I think one thing I really like.
is that uh, it's just a great story.
Well, that too, yeah, like the heist that they're doing in this is fucking great, but I also love that how like subversive this movie is because they're quite literally like, this would be like if Breaking Bad gave you the exact fucking formula and method for cooking meth in the show and showed you like that's what they're fuck the equivalent of what they're doing here.
Pretty much.
That's why I love this movie.
It's all fucking just a great story.
It's well explained.
I love it.
That's why another reason I love that shit is just because, yeah, it's a great story.
And they're training you how to get away with stealing cars in this era.
My lawyers are telling me to stop encouraging that.
Okay, I'm going to shut up.
I mean, is the time machine already working?
No, it's not necessarily that.
I think my lawyers are just really concerned that I'm amping up crime a little too much because How many lawyers is this now?
Enough for me to actually listen to them, so we should probably move on.
Okay, let's move on then.
Um, the car that would be the most difficult, apparently, is the 1973 Mustang that they code named Eleanor.
Uh, every car they're stealing has a code name and that's usually a woman's name.
Yes it is.
They, uh, see it, but the, uh, they're at the airport and they see the car, but uh, and one guy goes to steal it, but the owner's still in it.
So, uh, they they were having a lot of fun with the guy who was going to go steal it.
So anyway, they get the plate number so they know they'll be able to find it.
Uh, anyway, we have a team meeting and that is in our next clip.
Lucky.
All right, Theo.
Bet you can't do it again.
Double or nothing?
You're on.
Game's over.
Let's go.
You need money.
I don't want to sound like a drill sergeant, but this is the biggest contract we've ever handled.
I don't want any mistakes, so pay attention.
Is neither good with this gray hair?
No, just let it pull off.
At least my mother didn't name me Atley.
Atley, you've been with us for three years, and you're about as good as I am.
There's Carlos's wig.
We are gonna do this different.
You're gonna be working with Carlis.
It's Dosh, you're coming off shop detail, and you're gonna learn all about it.
Now here's a list of the code names.
I want you to look at them, study them carefully, and get to know them.
That's the only way we're gonna refer these cars from the day on.
Pumpkin, once you get on this list of cars, check them all out, see if the addresses are all current, and I want you to use it only, the phone that Atley here has got tied in the switchboard next door.
Now, Madrian, remember, we're only going after cars that are insured.
Right, if you guys have any questions, just have pumpkin around 1028 on it.
There's a legal indicated, that means they're usually insured.
I know it's been a long day, but we got some easy hits tonight.
I've got the DMV info on Eleanor, and she lives over in Torrance.
I found the Italian.
I remember seeing this picture of Lyle Wagner in Playgirl magazine.
You got anymore?
Yeah, or we can get part of Jones, big oldest Bronco, and Beyonne displayed his racing debate.
Good, you and Carlos handle it.
Okay.
Now one more thing, you guys.
All the personal effects, go into duffel bags, go to the shredder.
You don't want to keep any cameras, typewriters, all that stuff can be traced.
There are some new additions to the briefcases.
Make sure the walkie talkies are always on.
Same for the police radios in your car.
I keep you on top of things, and I...
Now, this is our new compact key cut.
We'll have a look at that, Emma.
Oh, yeah. I'll brief callers on this.
Pumpkin, I want you to get as many of the code numbers for the keys as you can. They'll keep us from popping the lock, especially the foreign cars.
Any questions?
Good.
Let's go to work.
Okay, Ali, go buy and pick up Corles, huh?
Yeah, I'll go get in. Okay, thank you.
Yeah.
All right, well, peace then goes out, and he steals Eleanor, but the drunk owner of Eleanor.
was taking his dog out because his wife was nagging him about it.
And so now, uh, he sees it and he gets in his other car and gives chase.
And so we get a bit of a mini chase scene here.
Uh, the cops kind of see the, the drunk driver more going.
So they're chasing him.
He causes an accident, and they get him, and he's like, but my car was stolen, all that, so they drive him to his house, and what's there, but Eleanor is still there.
So it just makes him look like he's a drunken loser who went on a joyride.
They even say so much.
I don't know if you clip that as your next clip, but they actually fucking say that later on that quite literally like, I know who this guy is.
He's a fucking prick.
So let's see him try and explain it.
I love that.
I did. I clipped it.
All right.
Yes, of course they did.
So after all that, and they get back.
Well, that pace visits Eugene and that is our next clip.
is so the fucking way.
Watch it. Yeah, worthy there again.
Remember, if you buy a car from me... I closed the door.
What do you want?
Where were you raised in a barn?
What do you want?
What's this I hear about you giving a car back?
1973, 410
You called me in here for that?
Yeah, Mr. Big Shot.
That's why.
73 Zippo, for only 14...
So what?
I didn't connect the two until I found that card on the sunbite.
H.D. Smith is none other than Harold White Smith.
Bravo, J.E.C. Senior claims supervisor and head idiot for the Kenton Insurance Pro.
What difference does that make?
He's denied more claims and screwed more people than you have.
And I wanna see him get his ass out of this one.
Jay and I want to go on our honeymoon.
The bulletin boy says you're supposed to be in court in 20 minutes.
Are you in your period again?
One of these days pays.
Yes, yes, he passed away this morning in Santa Barbara.
Of course, we would like very much for your folks to take care of things for us.
All right, Mrs. Weatherton.
That's 3,700 Artisia Boulevard. That's upstairs in the rear.
That's right.
Fine.
Will there be more than yourself coming in for the arrangements? Yes.
There are several members in the family, and... All right.
We appreciate it.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
That's right.
It'll be in the lobby of the Villa Rivera Building 2206 Ocean Boulevard in Long Beach.
Yes, at 2 p.m. this afternoon.
There will be a party of 6 going to the convention center in Anaheim.
Hello, yes, I would like a limousine to pick up a party of five at 1:30 this afternoon.
They'll be going to the airport, and the addressing to be picked up is H253 Artesian.
All right, then.
Thank you very much.
Hello, this is Haynes and Purcell Realtors.
I would like a limousine to pick up Mrs. Haynes and her party at the Tijuana Cafe in Gardena.
And would you please be there at 3 o'clock prompt?
Thank you.
All right, so, uh, we're setting up some cars to be stolen.
You know, there, there, uh, in that clip is towards the end, she's kind of arranging for like limousines, other cars that this drug dealer wants for some fucking reason. Um, and, uh, so, uh, then they start stealing the cars.
Atley is driving, uh, he's walking up to a car to steal it, and there's a woman who comes out, uh, and she is in next to nothing, so he gets distracted by some ass.
I mean yeah, I was.
Yeah.
And so he gets in the car and he starts, uh, you know, getting ready to steal it, and what happens?
There's a tiger in the fucking back seat.
See what happens?
You get distracted by pussy, you get attacked by pussy.
That's that's right.
That's what I was thinking.
I was like, god damn, dude, I mean, kind of on the nose, right?
Yeah.
And also, thank you, movie in both regardless.
Because that fucking little tiger cup was adorable.
I know they were trying to make it seem intimidating, but it was so cute and it just wanted some snuggles and...
And thank you for the lady as well.
Movie.
Thank you.
Thank you.
And for the, you know what?
The wall in their chop shop.
Thank you, movie.
Yeah, like that is quite literally every fucking garage.
I have been in, like, hanging out with my gearhead dad.
Like, that's what I grew up around was like an entire wall of just pinups just smeared, smeared to the wall and like paint it over with a clear coat to keep it from coming off.
Like, yeah, that was legit everywhere in every fucking garage in like the late 60s on through my childhood.
Some of the pinups that I saw were from back in the 60s that they never took off the shop wall.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And again, thank you, movie.
No complaints here, I suppose.
No complaints.
So anyway, this all leads to our next clip.
This is the way.
Oh baby, I promise you.
We'll be in London by this time next week.
I love you too.
Okay, bye bye, honey.
You blew it this time.
What's wrong today, Eugene?
We've been asked to investigate Taylor Webb used cars.
That what's wrong.
The adjuster to handle a total loss and a challenge you you did.
Well, he drove by his car lot, saw that darn thing.
Sitting out there and recognize the license number.
Now he even has to find out how come that bastard case that he bought five days ago, is back out on the road.
Well, I'll tell you what to do.
What's that?
Why don't you just investigate Taylor Webb in your usual manner, by the time you get around to it, it'll be history.
Hey, man.
Are you serious?
How can I in this nuthouse?
Eugene?
Pumpkin called me earlier and told me that Joe was sick.
I called Taylor Webb, and he wholesaled at the Prince Chrysler Plement today.
Don't worry, I have the fairy godmother take care of it.
Adrian.
Don't anybody worry if I'm warning it'll be gone.
All right, and that is the end of that 30 minutes before we go into the next.
So, obviously, there's some issues between Pace and Eugene.
Even though, you know, Pace is married into the family business.
Uh, he seems to be the guy who runs it, uh, but Eugene owns most of the shares.
So.
Yeah, and our main man here who's doing the insurance investigation is running the plan.
Also just fucking whips his dick out, metaphorically speaking, with his attitude towards everyone else and just waves it around everywhere.
He talks down to people like if they don't do what he wants, he fucking insults them using gendering insults and all of that kind of stuff.
Or call it a soap.
Which, by the way, he is a, because he uses a lot of terminology I learned a long time ago.
So you can say it because you actually are one.
Yes, yes.
I can't say that.
Yeah, I can't say it.
And he can say it because he actually is one.
But I'm still, when I catch them, gonna cut them out.
And when you say it, I'm going to cut it out because I don't put those in our show just because no slurs.
no slurs, remember?
Yeah, yeah, you can call yourself that all you want, but it's just going to be blank space in all of the shows when I cut it out.
Because that's for everybody else who may not be okay with even you saying it.
Get what I'm saying?
Like I'm trying to just trying to keep it even for everybody.
Those are my people.
I accept that, man.
Because if I didn't accept that, I wouldn't accept you, now would I?
That's true.
But I'm still not putting it out there for any of the other ones because there may maybe even just one that listens to this show and I want to make it safe for them too.
That's true.
That's all right.
No, I agree.
So anyhow.
But anyway, yeah, there's some problems there, so you know that's going to come back to bite someone in the ass.
So, and in fact, it, it, it leads to one of the main plot points.
Yeah, they have to have some kind of a conflict because let's face it, this guy's fucking untouchable right now, and it has to be him waving around his metaphorical dick that's tiring his crew that's going to come back to bite him in the ass.
He's uh, he's definitely um, playing the game on easy mode, it seems.
This motherfucker seems to be playing the game on easy mode with a game genie plugged in if that was still up.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And also all the codes to like be invincible.
Yeah, right, right.
He's playing doom in 1993 after typing in IDD QD.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
There you go.
He's pretty much he's like, uh, putting all the codes in for Mortal Kombat so he can just do one button push fatalities.
Oh, we should totally move on before I start making any more references.
You're right.
Yeah, before I do too.
Yeah, because that could happen.
We'll be here all day if we don't.
Yeah, yeah, exactly.
All right, in the next 30 starts.
So he gets he disguises himself as a tow truck driver. And uh, he goes to tow the challenger, but a cop like wants to see what he's doing. And so he actually has to drive away with the tow truck and the challenger, and he somehow loses the fucking cops.
That was fucking amazing. The tow truck chase.
And he's on a tow truck.
Yeah. He's towing a car away that he's going to destroy, sadly, but still, he does it and the car doesn't even really get damaged when he's doing it.
It's actually pretty fucking cool.
Yeah, it is.
It's like really fucking awesome.
So, you know, good on you, I guess.
son of a bitch.
Yeah, I've seen... You know, if you're...
If it's metaphorical dick is that big?
I guess he can swing it around whatever he fucking wants.
Yeah, when he drives like that, he's kind of got a point for being so cocky.
But when like I, the thing that I'm getting at is movie wise speaking, I've seen a lot of fucking car chases.
I've seen a lot of crazy car chases.
I've not seen this well done of a car chase with a tow truck actually towing a car while being chased and still out maneuvering a cop.
I've never seen it like usually there's a lot of slamming around and the person eventually loses the car and then it goes.
But this entire chase is him needing to get away with the car and not leaving evidence behind and he fucking does it and it's really cool.
Yeah, yeah, because then after he gets through with the chase, he takes the challenger to a chop shop, it chops it into a 1000000000 little pieces.
Yeah.
and then they destroy it, which makes me very very sad.
Yeah, I know, because that was a beautiful fucking car.
If one investigator pokes their nose around at the wrong VIN number, man.
Yeah.
Yep, that's I mean, that's just what's going to happen.
All right.
So, and after he does this, this leads to our next clip.
Chase research.
Yeah, Adrian.
We have a meeting this afternoon at 2 o'clock with Parnelli Jones and the insurance company about this big only bronco that was stolen yesterday.
Oh, you mean Janet, you know?
Yeah, I think I better handle that.
All right, it's all set then.
Let's go, Stosh.
I gotta go investigate a theft.
Somebody's still, finally, Jones's big oldie Bronco, and I think it was Adley.
I hope it was Adley.
Hey, Stosh, look at 3:00, the dude with the goatee.
Another Illinois.
I mean, you don't need them, they're all over the place.
She's sure been a lot of trouble, probably because she's the last of the Mustangs.
Sure is pretty color.
Yeah, sure is.
She lives at the International Tower.
We have to keep her in mind.
Never know we might need another eleanor.
Like a friend? Hello, a picture, right on time.
Look a little tired.
Oh, I'm nervous and upset.
What's the matter?
Well, it all started Sunday night when J.C. Agatjani's Rolls Royce was stolen.
And yesterday, four more expensive cars we insured were stolen.
If we're not recovered within 30 days, we stand to lose $150,000.
I read about that.
JC's car's on Ascot, wasn't it?
Yes.
But here's the clincher.
Last night, someone stole Parnelli Jones, big ole bronco, which we insure for $100,000.
And if it's not recovered within 15 days before the race, we stand to lose a quarter of a million.
I bet the odds against that are one in 10,000.
One in 22,000.
I'll bet underwriting is just delighted.
Oh, yes.
Colin.
Mr. Jones can see you now.
Thank you.
Allie, nice seeing you.
Yeah, see you later, Rob.
Yeah, okay.
Bye, Lisa.
Nice looking in.
Nice, sir.
Mr. Jones, I'm Frank Aquino from your insurance company, and I talked to you earlier.
This is Mr. Madrian Pace from Chase Research.
Pleasure.
I understand if, uh, anybody can find my bronco, you can.
Well, thank you.
What can you tell us about the theft?
We definitely think it was done by professionals.
Uh, the police, uh, just couldn't find anything, and...
Are you sure it was stolen?
I mean, not just misplaced or left one of the trucks or something.
No, I'm sure that it wasn't, uh, misplaced.
Is this a picture of anything on the wall?
Yes, as a matter of fact, that was taken last year down in Mexico.
Can we see the area where the bronco was stolen?
Sure, right this way.
Well, they definitely couldn't drive it or put it on the street or anything like that.
Well, it is one of the kind, and, uh, I'd really like to have it packed.
Well, we'll do everything we can to get it back for you, Barnell.
Tell me, uh, Frank, is here come you have an insurance policy on these two?
Yeah, that's...
Water, I don't get any plates.
Oh, it is a matter of fact, Trank.
all your imaginations.
You shouldn't let little things like that bother you.
Right here is where the, uh, Bronco was, uh, stolen.
Well, it's definitely not there now.
Excuse me, Parnelli, but Jim Cook is on the line.
Okay, I'll just take it down here.
Okay.
Excuse me, gentlemen, but, uh, just give my bronco back.
Well, we can't find it.
Frank's coming, just have to pay your $350,000.
Well, I'd rather have my broncos back.
We'll do our best.
I'll drop by the police before I pick up the report.
Have it in your office right away.
Okay, Frank, I got work to do.
I'll see you later.
Bye.
All right.
So, uh, Adam, uh, steals, uh, another car.
We get more uh, car, you know, car, uh, car thefts.
At least steals another car from a car wash and we get see more cars are getting stolen.
Um, uh, and then we get back to the shop and that is our next one.
I still think we're lucky.
I'm gonna send a letter to the insurance company, telling them that Taylor Webb was not in possession of the car.
couldn't open.
We better lay up with Taylor Webbs.
Just stay off of me, huh?
Fancy zero, 98.
I don't suppose you'd open the damn door.
No way.
Here, hold this.
What do you want me to do with this darn thing?
Shove it up, your dupal!
How do I look at this one?
your wig.
It itch you.
I'll itch you.
Get this damn thing in there and get it cleaned up.
Hell, here's the truck.
Oh, this is loaded with junk.
Better bring the double bags over.
Come on, let's get this cleaned up today, huh?
Let's go.
Thanks.
Damn, look at that.
Don't do this, man.
Work, work, work.
Holy shit.
Hey, let's see that.
Yeah, right.
You're kidding.
No shit.
Let me see that.
Goddamn.
We're rich.
We're really rich.
Look at all it.
I'm sorry, the coffee. I don't think this stuff is working.
Yeah, it must be a million bucks, please.
Can I?
Oh, you can always get rid of them.
Oh, damn.
Natalie, where'd you get this piece?
I picked it up on Vermont in front of a poker pod.
Well, take it back.
What do you mean, take it back?
You hurting me.
Take it back.
I'll take care of that.
Who is it?
Oh, wait.
The whole damn thing's loaded.
Wait a second.
Oh, it's you, Hawkins.
Working nights now, eh, Pisinsky?
You know how it is.
I know how it is.
Gentlemen.
Hi, Hawkins.
Hi, Attley.
Hi, Sarge.
Is it Eugene?
Hey, how you doing, Hawkins?
Come on, you guys.
Let's get to work.
What's up, Hawkins?
Well, the shit's really in the fans.
Lieutenant's really on my ass this time.
Figures.
You're too hard on the case.
Hey, boss.
Ellie, just get to work on a pinow.
What's this?
Cadillac.
What's wrong with it?
Oh, it's, uh, theft recovery.
Mm, nice.
Like that, huh?
What are you doing out this late at night?
I just finished taking a report down at Whittlesey Motors.
Seems someone ripped off a matter.
What's the matter?
It's 35th expensive car stolen in three days.
You heard about that, didn't you?
Listen, all I hear is the insurance company screaming at us every time they lose a lousy dime.
Maybe.
Mmm.
Comfort.
Why don't you back this up so Eugene can get out of the office there?
Yeah.
Yeah, sure.
Yeah, would you?
Yeah.
Thanks.
Oh, no!
That's good.
Oh, I've been working too hard.
Look, do me a favor and keep your ears open for me, will you?
Sure, Hawkins.
You know something, Pasinski?
There's probably been five more cars stolen in just the time I've been here.
No, I don't think so, Hawkins.
Good night.
God damn it, we... Look, I say we peddle this stuff right now.
We'll talk about it in the morning.
No, we're gonna talk about it in the morning.
Okay, so, uh, now, of course, uh, we got an added problem with heroin.
And of course, Eugene's like, I want to sell it.
We can make millions, but I mean, drugs are just, that's the level you go to when you really want to get caught doing something.
Yeah, especially fucking heroin. Like, it's not like they found a, like, a couple of 100 grand worth of fucking weeds stuffed in the fucking trunk, right?
Exactly.
This is fucking heroin and like death penalty levels of trafficking.
Yeah, and it's easier to get busted with drugs than car theft.
Absolutely.
Drugs is what really kind of brought down the mafia, if you think about it.
And I know the mafia is still probably around someplace or not.
Maybe doesn't exist.
I don't know.
Don't get mad at me.
Um, but, it's what caused it to really fall apart because they were, the cops and were able to build and add Rico cases, which technically, that's what destroyed the mob was Rico cases, but drugs are what kind of brought that to it because, when they started dealing with it, it was easier to catch people.
The punisher took out a lot of the gangsters, so there's that.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Well, the punisher did that.
Um, Punisher's the coolest dude ever.
Let's move on.
So all right.
Uh, they burned the caddy with all the drugs in it, so that's good.
And this leads to our final clip.
Adrian, we have to give Elmo back.
What are you talking about?
The contract's filled.
She's not in short.
Here, look for yourself.
You gotta be kidding.
Owner desperate.
73 Ford Mustang stolen from 18511 Mariposa Gardena.
Not insured.
Please return no questions.
Pumpkin, I'm tired.
I'm not Superman.
Look at that.
That contract is filled.
Adrian.
Damn you, Base.
Where is that El Dorado?
It's gone, Eugene.
What'd you do with it, you son of a bitch?
I burned it.
You burned a million dollars worth of heroin?
I'm gonna give Eleanor back, but only because of one reason.
I know where there's an L at the International Towers in Long Beach.
Get them cleaned up.
Adrian.
We want we do the impossible.
Steal 48 cars, get them to the warehouse with hours of spare, and only Eleanor gives us all the trouble.
We really have to put her back on the street.
Ah, I promise, Pumpkin.
Hell, if we're lucky, the one we saw yesterday may still be at the International Towers.
We'll light your cigar and calm down before you bite the end off.
Yeah, I do love that they give that lady her car back because...
Because it wasn't insured.
Yeah.
And she was.
I mean, they're technically they're criminals, but with a heart of gold.
That's how I prefer my criminals, god damn it.
Me too.
They're criminals, but they're okay.
Yeah, these are the kind of criminals that I can get behind.
They're targeting people that fucking suck, but have insurance to get shit covered.
And then they're literally going after an insurance guy that's been denying a shit ton of claims so that he can't deny claims anymore.
And then he'll be out of business like a motherfucker.
This is devious and awesome.
I know, right?
Uh, pace then, we kind of get this weird moment where pumpkin's just sitting in her office and looks like almost distraught.
Pace goes through all the cars that they have stolen because there's only one left now, Eleanor, but he goes through all the other ones, checking them out, make sure everything looks good and everything, you know, it's they're in good condition.
And then we cut to Eugene, Stooges, uh, out, uh, uh, pace and um, calls the cops and lets them know where he's going to be stealing Eugene, or Eleanor from.
And that's the end of that 30 minutes before we run into the final run.
I don't have a lot to add.
We've been kind of commentating as we go.
I just want to point out that everything that you're about to describe, even though you're not going to be able to really fully do it justice, we already know that's the case, we've already said that's going to be the case.
I want to point out that in this specific film, there is no, there may be some editing tricks to make jumps and things look a little bit cooler, but quite literally everything you see a car do, the man driving it made that fucking happen.
Yeah, this is this is not CGI shit.
This is not, this is real driving.
This is real car chases.
Yeah, and there's real stunt work.
There's spots in this fucking chase that before we even get to describing it where they're filming inside of the car that I had fucking PTSD flashbacks from riding with the gearhead people I grew up around and being terrified that they were going to fuck up doing some of the shit that this guy does.
Like, it is possible this shit actually does happen and is possible to be able to be done with cars.
I've lived through some of these narrow misses this guy pulls off that Matt's about to describe.
I just want to state that.
Yeah, this is uh, this is going to get awesome.
All right.
Let's go.
Let's go.
The final run.
All right.
So he shows up, steals Eleanor, and as he's driving out and these 2 cops are there.
Bravo, they are a team.
these 2 guys.
They're like detectives though, but they're a special group.
Um, and uh, they are called one Baker 11. And one Baker 11 there is they're watching.
They say maybe he's just a salesman, but he, uh, comes out with the car and the car alarm starts, so he has to jimmy that off, but they see that and they go,
Well, let's let's follow him. And then he knows he's getting chased and the chase is now on.
It goes through the streets of Long Beach.
Uh, a radio talk show host gets wind of it and they have people throughout the whole chase, like interviewing people about the chase, what they saw, all that.
I'm just getting that out of the way.
There's lots of here.
Let me say this.
There's throughout this whole chase, there's a lot of people, like short little talks, whether it's reporting the chase or cops, like getting new cops involved, because he's going to go through about 6 cities, doing this chase or towns.
So strap in motherfuckers.
I would have recorded every single one of them, but you know, that's me.
Yeah, I thought about it, but I'm like, oh, that's just a lot for one, like, 3 seconds of dialogue.
I'm like, nah, I'm gonna
I'm going to do this right and power through this fucking chase.
I'm just saying like, you have more scruples than me.
because I would have done it.
So he's going through the streets and they seem to have them cornered and guns drawn on him, but he drives through them and drives through a hail of bullets and he gets lucky on that.
So fucking badass
Yep.
Then he gets onto a bridge and causes what I could probably tell us about a 10 car pile up of accidents as he passes these cars.
Fucking insane.
So much damage.
Yes, yeah.
Um, drives through like this field, um, and he loses some cops there because he like stops because he could see and cops are like flying over the edge of like, not like a cliff, but like just like an edge where they weren't going to die, but they were going to, you know, they're going to crash their cars.
It's a hell of an embankment that was either done by erosion or them piling dirt up there and then erosion, and the cops went over and down that fucking slope.
And he stopped where he did and basically made it look like so that the horizon, they were tricked by it and forced them to go over that.
He tricked them.
basically.
and it's fucking awesome.
It is, it's it's stupendous stuff.
So in the in the one Baker 11 gets stuck as well.
And then he looks like he's surrounded, but then he gets loose again, about 6 different times.
It looks like he's dead to rights and somehow he paws through.
One baker 11 gets loose and they rejoin the chase.
Uh, we get more just general chasing.
Um, but then pace hits an electrical pole, but he's once again able to back out of that and get away before the cops can really catch up to him.
Then we get a shit ton more crashes of cops cars, regular cars, just getting bashed around.
Uh, we have a lady in a car.
She's in the middle of the street and a big like trash truck and they're both blocking the streets.
They're having an argument about something, and he's like, lady, you got to get out of the road, and pace goes around it, but the cops hit the truck dead on, tip the truck over.
It crushes that lady's car and everything starts catching on fire.
Amazing.
All done live, all right there.
How the fuck did they do this?
How did they get away with this?
How did they work with the fucking cops to do any of this on such an obvious low budget in 1968?
This is insane.
Yeah, and the cops were probably like, yeah, no.
This is interesting.
is fucking insane.
This is so insane.
It's so cool, though.
And then we kept to these kids who are driving out in a white caddy and they are getting drunk and high as fuck.
Uh, and we see them uh, throughout like this entire chase that they're doing this.
Billy, the name of the car is Billy.
But he's like, no, that's his ride because all his friends are in it because this is how they're able to have fun is now because he's got freedom of the car.
Um, so they actually get smashed into another car because they're all paying attention to the car chase.
Uh, then the chase leads the past.
We come to a new police headquarters being built in this other small town.
Uh, not, and it goes, no taxpayer money went to it, and the mayor is really proud of it, and then the chase goes by that.
Um, the chase, then we come to a Cadillac store and the chase goes through the Cadillac store where they have blocked all the entrances, but he finally finds a way out, but he's going through a Cadillac store.
and fucking up cars and glass and fucking dust.
And the dealership and driving through shit. Yeah.
This sequence right here, I 100% believe, is what influenced the idea of driving through the Mall and Blues Brothers, this sequence.
Yeah, same for sure.
think so.
Yeah.
I mean, it's fucking amazing.
Yeah, it's insane.
It's dangerous.
It's just so expensive and so much destruction and we're not even like halfway through the chase yet.
Yeah, exactly.
Um, so okay.
While he's going through the Cadillac.
And we're actually halfway through the chase.
The Cadillac store takes a long time, as does when they're chasing them in that field.
That also is 2 of the big parts of the, the chase.
Um, but, uh, while he's going to the caddy.
A lot of this chase too, just to say it, a lot of this chase, um, is you see foreshadowering of things he's about to run into.
Like when he, while he's losing the cops at one part of the chase, you're seeing the future where he's heading and like what else he's going to have to fucking deal with.
Yeah. And by the way, um, this man does deserve to swing around his metaphorical dick talking to anyone about anything.
At this point in the drive of what he's getting away with, it's like, yeah, he has earned every bit of fucking swagger.
Exactly. This dude can really drive like this too.
That's the insane thing.
Yeah, this is, I mean, he's the director of the film as well.
Yeah, he wrote it and directed it and he can actually drive this shit.
Yeah, he drives like.
it's fucking insane.
So during the caddy part.
We see a multicar accident.
Like people are hurt.
People are, you know, bloodied.
It's a bad accent.
had nothing to do with this chase.
It's just its own accident, but it is a complete blockade.
Well, he gets out of the caddy and he sees it.
Well, he knows what he has to do.
He floors that motherfucker and uses a car that's kind of upside down, but tilted up as a ramp and dukes a hazards his ass right over the entire wreck.
And he fucking actually did it.
I don't care if he set it up to be able to do it.
He still made that jump happen off of a fucking broken up car.
See, it goes into an awesome slow-mo.
Yeah, and they cut from multiple angles and show it to you multiple times because he is metaphorically wiping his big fucking dick all over the camera lens right there.
Exactly.
Yeah, it's awesome
That's so good
Um, So anyway, because he does that, uh, the cops all get stuck behind that accident.
So he gets some space.
Now he's riding.
Eleanor at this point is completely fucking wrecked.
There's no way.
Yeah.
Well, he's passing a car wash, and once you know it,
There's a car that looks just like Eleanor right there.
So he stops, tells the woman that he's the manager and she needs to go to the manager's office because they have to rewatch the car.
So she does and he takes the car and he drives away.
He actually put his own fucked up car in the line and just told the lady just to go ahead and just do a wash.
Yeah.
Yep. Yeah.
So he set this up because he knew he was going to go over and take that woman's car with this.
So he takes off all his like, he had a gray wig, gray mustache, all that.
He takes all that off, so he's just kind of looking normal now, and he's driving that car.
Well, then the police catch up and they see the trash car, so they all, you know, start going to that car wash and an old guy in a suit with gray hair, gray mustache. The actual manager car?
of the car.
Oh, yeah, that's the actual manager.
He's, of course, standing by the car because he's looking at like, what the hell happened? and he gets arrested.
Because he fits the profile of how the guy was dressed.
It's awesome.
All throughout this.
Uh, he's in line.
He's trying to, there's a police blockade and, you know, they're letting cars go through and they're like checking IDs when he gets up there right before they check his ID to run some stuff and to run the car, they get told that the suspect has been apprehended and so they let him go.
He gets on back onto the interstate.
He's on the road.
He passes by those kids in that caddy or they're driving it.
It's all smashed up, and it catches fire, and he says goodbye, Billy, and roll fucking credit.
This podcast off to Messiah.
This show still fucking sucks.
Now that I know that that's actually Billy's car,
I feel really bad for him because I thought that I wasn't paying attention to anything other than car chase at that moment when the car chase starts.
as you can hear in my voice from the excited.
I cannot separate watching this as like a younger person and just being really jazzed about all the crime and action and watching it as a fucking adult and being mortified by all of the crime, but still in on all of the action.
Man, so many people fucking get wrecked and hurt.
And it looks so real, like so much shit is getting wrecked and hurt.
And the director did and stuntman and writer and whatever else, the main guy in charge that made this shit happen, did all of that driving and all of the crazy stunts.
And I think he lost his life trying to make a sequel to this or another movie, or maybe in actually making this film and they finished it for him.
I don't remember exactly how that happened.
No, I don't think so because there's a series, they said, of films.
Yeah, but at some point in time, he died doing this at some point, yeah, because it's just what he loved to do.
And also, almost every car that is destroyed in this, he actually owned.
Yeah, apparently he bought all this fucking shit just to destroy it for this film.
Fucking insane.
Yeah, I think he may have even actually won the dealership he fucked up to.
Holy fuck. God damn.
This guy really just put it all on the line, didn't he?
Yeah, like, I'm not, like, again, I don't know how much of that is just, you know, like fairy tale shit or even just stuff that I've loaded into my own head and I want to believe, but like, pretty much the budget was this man's, like, owned all of this shit that was destroyed is what I understand.
Which is insane.
The amount of cars that are destroyed in this film.
That's fucking... Yeah, insane here.
Oh, yeah, yeah.
Gone in 60 seconds too, yeah, and let's see here.
I can edit.
Just take your time to find the pertinent information.
Yeah, all right.
And on August 20th, 1989.
Well, filming in Dunkirk and Buffalo, New York, Helike was preparing for the most dramatic stunt sequence in the film, during which 160 foot tall water tower was supposed to topple to the ground.
When a cable attached to the tower snapped unexpectedly, it sheared off of a telephone pole, which fell on Haliki, killing him instantly.
Wow.
And got in 60 seconds too, that he was trying to film in like the late 80s?
Oh, man.
And he had just gotten married to Denise, uh, Shekarian, uh, and uh, they just gotten married.
Oh wow.
After Haliki's death, she was
Shakarian began dating her 3rd cousin, Robert Kardashian, best known for representing O.J. Simpson.
there's a little trivia for you.
Oh my fucking God.
Wow.
She started fucking her 3rd cousin.
Tell me what the fuck?
All right, well, where I come from in the hills, I can't really talk or judge.
Roll ties.
It's more or less what I was saying, yeah.
Not me personally.
I'm just saying I can't judge because I grew up around.
I grew up around folk that wouldn't exist if they weren't, you know, all about the relative.
Yeah, right. I think I'm done.
I think we've said more than enough about this.
It's an amazing fucking film.
Yeah, it's great.
It's a real bummer that he died, but at least he died doing something that he loved, which was insane stunt work.
I mean, he died a legend.
more than any of us will ever be able to say
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
Like, just the risk this man was willing to take to make entertainment is just incredible.
And yeah, fucking legend.
You're right.
Totally right.
Just a fucking legend.
All right, with that, we're going to take the break here.
We're going to play the show housekeeping.
And when we come back, we'll have another song that will hopefully pay tribute to the awesomeness of this film and its story.
It will be created quite literally before I edit this episode.
So we'll see how that works.

In the shadows of the night, a life unseen.
Maindream moves like a ghost, looking keen.
If the crew sleep thieves,
They share a fate.
Stealing dreams in the dark.
It's never too late
A drug's falling car.
The stakes are high.
48 cars on the line.
Just a little alibi.
Oh, he's rolling through the streets.
The stars in his eyes
With each engine's roar racing under the skies.
Caught in the chase, looks like they won't wait, an epic high some folding, will it seal his face?
Through long beach, the siren scream and wail, with cops on his tail.
He starts to feel the frail illinois surprise.
But the price is dire on this winding roll, they slip through the fire.
So through the crack, turning back of blood on the asphalt.
He takes his final bow, he's rolling through the streets, the stars in his eyes with each engines roar racing under the skies.
Call the chase.
Looks like paper weight, an epic heist unfolding.
Will it seal this bay?
In the rearview mirror, the light starts to fade, running from the past, decisions forty made, a life on the edge, with no place to hide, now main tree knows there's nowhere to ride.
Oh, he's rolling through the streets.
All right, man, I've got nothing left, and man, do I really got to go?
My back teeth are floating, so let's go ahead and end this shit.
My teeth are flowed.
What you do?
I have to take a leak, man.
That's what I'm saying.
Have you never heard that phrase before?
No, I've never heard that phrase before.
That's nice.
No, that must be a hillbilly thing then.
But anyway, it's still true and I still have to go.
So while you're out there wondering whether or not I'm going to make it, kick the fuck out of this weekend, make it your pitch.
He did it.
In the shadow a secret slide.
Maindrians got a plan tonight.
With the engines roaring loud.
Chasing dreams behind the wheel.
48 the stakes are high.
Through the streets, we'll take our flight.
Leaving troubles far behind.
We'll break free, escape the grind.
But the dawn brings a bitter twist.
A whisper in the dark, betrayed, detectives on a racing fast through 5 cities.
Can we outlast each heart breaks?
On my side, can you hear this?
I sure can.
Sweet.
And you're coming through loud and clear on the test recording, or the back, or the main recording?
So let me start the backup recording.
Recording in progress.
All right.
And so that means we are fully recording and ready to rock.
You got your notes and stuff ready to go?
I sure do.
All right.
Now, let me just highlight which one we're doing.
Okay, so let's let's get this over with.
Let's do it.
This should not be the attitude to start a show, right?
No, I know, ah, it's all right.
It is what it is.
All right.
Tomorrow morning, you get up at 5 start right now.
I can hear you moving that cable. Yeah, that cable got on there.
That's all right.
just make it mono.
It'll be fine.
Well, Stanley goes like this.
only a minute.
let this roll.
The seal number.
from the red car on the new one.
I got nothing to do with it. The police and the insurance company... I need to take a nap or race the charge if the episode finished for this week.
You know how many cars that... Yeah.
Right. Like, give a fuck ometer continues to drop, the more it feels like the world's gonna buy.
I mean, this car after...
I'm literally just doing my hobbies at this point just to distract myself from thinking about what the fuck is going on and being super interesting.
I try to get myself into the mode to hit the gym, but I just...
What's the point of looking great whenever you're fucking going to be flashed away in a sea of fucking movies?
Or die shitting yourself because nobody can be bothered to watch the lettuce in this country.
Oh god.
All right, that clip's done.
Um, let's see here.
This is only 2 minutes.
I'm gonna basically go.
Yeah.
You can still hear that even though it's a little more quiet, right?
Yeah, yep, yep.
We didn't have time for you to level your clips, so I'm thinking.
I didn't have time to level your clips, so it's no big.
Who gives a shit?
Who gives a shit who gives a fuck?
Yeah, I have found that I am never ready early. No, me neither.
Well, and also specifically if I don't watch your movie before I do my notes, I can't do my notes Sunday before the show.
Oh, yeah.
Like, I have to either done my notes.
and finish them up on Sunday where I'm like most of the way through before I can watch yours.
I have to watch yours before I do my notes on Sunday.
like at some point.
I just I have to.
I'm completely unreliable.
I fuck off too much.
I've seen me do it.
I stopped trying to do notes and I go fucking pet my cats and like just start playing with them and get them all like worked up and crazy.
So they run back and forth across the hallway and make me do it all again.
You know?
It's almost like I don't want to do this show.
I know, I, I, I, I get the feel, and I, I don't think it's, do the show.
I don't want to do anything anymore.
Yeah, that's fair.
That's fair.
I'm having a real fucking hard time being motivated for anything.
I promise.
Yeah, this world is really fucking me up in ways that I don't like.
I agree, and that was really fucked up.
Yeah, so not caring that I'm recording your voice and the clips and audio from my computer at the same time.
That really just made life a lot easier for me to record this fucking show.
.
Of course.
That's the thing. whatever makes our lives easier.
Not anybody else is.
Look, like, I still like doing the show.
I wouldn't do the show if I didn't like doing this.
Yeah, same. I still love doing the show, but you just nailed it.
I just don't love anything.
Yeah, it's hard to do anything anymore, right?
Yeah.
We're coming out. Three, two, one.
I think your cord's back.
man.
I can hear a lot of stuff. I didn't think so until I found that card on the sunvisor.
Okay, Smith is...
Yeah, there's probably one liner around the house.
I got a shift on light around this house.
As long as it's not the jack on your reporter.
No, it's not. What I love about this guy is the only steel insured card so that people don't get screwed.
Yeah. One of these days.
Yeah, and he's specifically targeting this same insurance guy that they're trying to fuck over.
I think they say that too.
That's great.
They really plan this out.
It's almost like.
It's almost like this guy is just like, hey, why don't we just film our crime ring because we're so good at it.
Let's just make it...
Everything's awesome.
All right. Oh, I'm being told to stop again. It'll be in the wall.
Damn it, stop.
like people that commit crimes.
Okay, fine. You need to stop making people that commit crimes heroic.
I'd rather not.
I want to make crime heroic now.
Sorry, I'm just gonna cheer when someone shoots a fucking CEO of a healthcare company in the back.
I'm just gonna do it.
I mean, listen, I'm gonna cheer when people shoot any CEO in the package.
We can move on now.
Let's go.
Because they're all asshole.
All right.
So, let's see here.
Well, fuck, I got all fucked up now.
Hold on.
They just destroyed the car.
Yeah. Here's the one in 22.
Yeah, I would be mad at you if you tried to explain all this shit and didn't just clip there.
or anything like that.
they tell you literally everything they're about to do before they do it.
Excuse me, I know.
That's why I'm putting it around.
I'm gonna send a letter to the insurance. Coming down with something, man.
It's either that or it sounds like you're, like, me eating really, really hot, hot winds where they make coffee.
No, not yet.
What do you mean?
I do have a little bit of stuffy nose, but I don't say anything big.
I think I just caught a little tickle on my throat.
I think it's the fucking storms because I had like a day where I had like really, really bad shit in my sinuses, but I just kept blowing my nose and then it was fine.
It was all the nastiness kicked up weird.
He's been in the office there.
Thanks.
And then also where those storms came in from, I'm sure they blew a whole bunch of bad shit in it.
Oh, yeah, like fires and shit.
All our air is toxic, though.
I fucking hate this reality.
Me too.
Can we turn the CERN thing back on, see if we can get back into our universe?
I don't know, it feels like this is the one right before, like, Star Trek actually becomes a thing.
Like, it feels like we're just suffering through the food right stage.
We're almost to the Star Trek world, man.
That clip's done.
Clip number 7's out.
I mean, I'll never live to see it because we have to go through World War 3 first, but cool.
Adrian, we have to give that on my back.
What do you talk about?
The contract's filled.
I love how it's majoring, but it's spelled main drain.
Yeah.
You gotta be kidding.
Main dream. Owner desperate.
73 Ford Mustangs. That's one 180 miles.
Not insured.
Please return no questions.
Especially if I had like the metaphorical dick whopping around.
Like this motherfucker.
This motherfucking drive, that's for sure.
Damn, Space, where's it, Colorado?
I whipped my huge metaphorical dick at it.
It's just trash it.
So, I'll never mean that.
The beach, the siren screaming wail with cops on his tail.
He starts to feel the frail Illinois surprise.
But the price is dire on this winding rly slip through the fire, slip through the cracks, turning back a mull on the asphalt.
He takes his final bow, he's rolling through the streets.
The stars in his eyes with each engines roar racing under the skies.
Call the chase.
Looks like people fade, an epic heist unfolding.
Will it seal this fade?
In the rearview mirror, the lights start to fade, running from the past, decision sporting made, alive on the edge, with no place to hide.
Now main tree knows there's nowhere to ride.
Oh, he's rolling through the street stars in his eyes, with each engine's roar racing under the skies, caught a chase.
The flat they won't wait, an epic high, unfolding.
Will it steal is fading?
While you're out there wondering whether or not I'm gonna make it.
Kick the fuck out of this weekend, make it your pitch.
He did it.
