With our first week almost at an end, we continue our Halloween hayride through haunted people, places, and things with the 1963 classic, The Haunting. This ain’t on the list for looks, though the velvety black and white is gorgeous. This is a precursor to what we think of as ‘elevated horror,’ and still manages to be an effective character study with some surprising scares. Let’s gush over it together.
